At Carmen Hutt Movement, Pilates is taught with a thoughtful and practical approach. Classes focus on building strength, improving mobility, and developing greater control in the way your body moves.
With small group sessions and careful guidance, exercises are progressed gradually so clients can build confidence and resilience without feeling overwhelmed. The goal is simple: to help you move better, feel stronger, and continue doing the activities you enjoy.

Pilates is increasingly supported by research as an effective way to improve strength, mobility, balance, and overall physical function. When practiced consistently, Pilates can help people develop better movement patterns and build the strength needed to support everyday activities.
Unlike workouts that rely on intensity alone, Pilates focuses on controlled, progressive movement. This allows the body to adapt while improving coordination, joint stability, and muscular endurance.
Research has shown Pilates may help:
Improve core and whole-body strength
Increase mobility and joint control
Reduce back and joint discomfort
Improve balance and body awareness
Support long-term physical function as we age
At Carmen Hutt Movement, Pilates is taught with these principles in mind—prioritizing quality of movement, appropriate challenge, and an approach that supports long-term health and movement.
Pilates is suitable for beginners, athletes, and anyone wanting to move with greater ease, less pain or stiffness, and confidence.
Pilates is a great tool for cross training and for daily life. Whether you run, lift, play sport, or you sit at your desk all day this movement practice can benefit you in many different ways.

Small group reformer classes are well suited to people who:
• Want to build strength and improve mobility
• Appreciate a slower, more controlled / mindful style of exercise
• Prefer a smaller, more supportive class environment
• Are looking for sustainable movement that support health and longevity
Consistent weekly attendance helps clients build strength and see the greatest benefits from their practice.
Carmen Hutt is the founder of Carmen Hutt Movement and a dedicated Pilates instructor passionate about helping people move with greater strength and confidence.

What began as a challenge quickly became a powerful tool that supported her in developing greater awareness, control, and quality of movement.
Today, she teaches Pilates through an evidence-informed lens, focusing on quality movement, progressive strength, and practical application to everyday life. Her approach is thoughtful, supportive, and rooted in helping clients feel stronger, move better, and build lasting resilience.
Her background includes full STOTT Pilates certification, FRCms certification, over 500 hours of yoga training with 15 years of teaching, and a 20-year career in occupational therapy, along with a commitment to ongoing professional development in human movement.
Her work is rooted in helping people move well—and feel at home in their bodies.
Private Pilates sessions provide a personalized approach to Pilates, designed around your individual goals, goals, and movement history.
In a one-on-one session, we begin by discussing your movement background, any injuries or areas of discomfort, and what you hope to gain from Pilates. Exercises are selected and progressed specifically for you using the reformer and other studio equipment.

• Are managing pain, stiffness, or recovering from injury
• Prefer more individual guidance and feedback
• Want to deepen your practice and refine technique
Often clients begin with a few private sessions before joining small group classes, while others continue with private training to support specific goals.
Private sessions can also be done as a duo or with friends as a healthy social event. Email me at carmenhutt@gmail.com for further information.

1. Payments secure your spot
Your monthly payment reserves your space in class. Because class sizes are small, your spot is held for you whether you attend or not.
2. Missed classes aren’t refunded, but can be supported
I’m not able to offer refunds or credits for missed classes, as your payment holds your place. However, I’ll always do my best to support you with a recorded class, a suggested home practice, or a swap when space allows ( within the same week).
3. Weather cancellations are handled by me
If I need to cancel a class (weather, illness, emergency), I will always offer a replacement—either a Zoom session or a recorded class. If you’re unable to make it in, the class will still run as scheduled.
4. Payments are due on the same date each month
To keep everything running smoothly, payments are due on the same date each month. This helps ensure consistency and fairness for everyone.
5. Pause in membership
If you know you’ll be away for an extended period , please let me know. Every client is entitled to pause their membership for a one month period ( consecutive weeks) where their payment can be paused and their spot held ( September - June) If absence exceeds this time frame their spot in their class will be offered to another individual on the waitlist.
6. Kindness + clarity
I truly value each of you, and these policies allow me to keep class sizes small, the space welcoming, and the schedule consistent.
Note: If taking a break - the two week must be consecutive. If they just miss two classes within a three month span, I will provide a recorded video session.
**** AS the current system is down I am collecting information through my older system at the moment . Please sign up for your chosen classes below the schedule. Once the system is back and running we will start rolling out the ongoing membership payment
